Description | Took place Saturday 23rd May 2015. Part of the London Southbank Centre's Alchemy annual festival exploring the cultural links between the UK and South Asia, with multiple venues around the UK participating and presenting a local festival and production. This year's production was titled 'Variety is the Spice' and was an evening of music, dance, and comedy hosted by Marcus Nisar. The festival also contained the following events: the Coliseum Bazaar on Yorkshire Street, an Asian street market; 'Occasionally We Skype', a Kathak dance, live music, and theatre show; 'United Colours of FrustAsian', featuring performances from five artists exploring their identities; 'Knives, Forks, and Fingers', a storytelling and food tasting event from The Oldham Women's Chai Morning Group and residents of Aska Homes; and finally 'Nirbhaya', a dramatisation of Nirbhaya's story showing for two nights at the Grange Arts Centre, Oldham.
