- Report from William Lees, Chaplain, to the Trustees of the Oldham Blue Coat School, sent via William Slater Esq. of Cririe, Slater and Heelis Solicitors, stating that, after making some unscheduled visits to the school, he is even more satisfied as to the boys' continued moral and religious progress, and praising the school's system of teaching

- Report from William Lees, Chaplain, to the Trustees of the Oldham Blue Coat School, sent via Messrs Slater and Heelis, Solicitors, expressing continued satisfaction with the boys' moral and religious progress and informing the trustees that enquiries into the behaviour of some former pupils, now in service, have resulted in equally favourable reports
- Report from William Lees, Chaplain, to the Trustees of the Oldham Blue Coat School, sent via Messrs Slater and Heelis, Solicitors, stating that, although (understandably) less marked than at the start, there has still been a gradual improvement in both the intellectual and moral/religious character of the boys, and noting with approval the institution's bias towards advancement of the latter
- Report from William Lees, Chaplain, to the Trustees of the Oldham Blue Coat School, sent via Messrs Slater and Heelis, Solicitors, stating that his scheme of examining one or more classes weekly on the scriptures and catechisms has continued to prove to him the boys' knowledge and understanding of such subjects, and remarking that, during the short period of time since their election, the new boys have made as much progress as could reasonably be expected
- Report from William Lees, Chaplain, to the Trustees of the Oldham Blue Coat School, sent via Messrs Slater and Heelis, Solicitors, giving details of his usual method of examining the boys' religious knowledge, expressing general satisfaction with their progress, but remarking that, upon first impression, those most recently elected do not appear to be as capable as their predecessors
- Report from William Lees, Chaplain, to the Trustees of the Oldham Blue Coat School, sent via Messrs Slater and Heelis, Solicitors, stating that the behaviour of the boys during his visits and their knowledge of moral and religious subjects remains commendable, but making it clear that insufficient time has passed since the last election of boys took place to be able to include them in the report
- Report from William Lees, Chaplain, to the Trustees of the Oldham Blue Coat School, sent via Messrs Slater and Heelis, Solicitors, comparing the overall progress of the most recently elected boys unfavourably with that of previous intakes (as he had feared), but praising the abilities of some of the boys in the upper classes and the state of discipline in the school as a whole
- Report from William Lees, Chaplain, to the Trustees of the Oldham Blue Coat School, sent via Messrs Slater and Heelis, Solicitors, expressing great satisfaction with the knowledge demonstrated by the boys during his weekly visits, observing that a little progress has finally started to be made by those boys given an unfavourable report previously (see S64/16/14) and commenting on the superiority of the boys selected in March compared to the previous intake

- Report from William Lees, Chaplain, to the Trustees of the Oldham Blue Coat School, sent via Messrs Slater and Heelis, Solicitors, expressing satisfaction with the progress of the boys in general, but especially in the art of reading, mentioning that several of the school's former pupils had recently offered themselves as candidates for confirmation in the parish and, on a negative note, informing the trustees of the recent suicide by drowning of one of the boys at the school

- Report from William Lees, Chaplain, to the Trustees of the Oldham Blue Coat School, sent via Messrs Slater and Heelis, Solicitors, giving a detailed analysis of how the boys elected in 1839, 1840 and 1841 are currently classed, using these statistics to assess the accuracy of some of his previous reports, in particular to prove to the trustees that his unfavourable critique of the 1839 intake (see S64/16/14) had been largely justified, but reassuring them of his continuing high regard for the institution as a whole
- Report from William Lees, Chaplain, to the Trustees of the Oldham Blue Coat School, sent via Messrs Slater and Heelis, Solicitors, praising the boys' knowledge of the religious subjects upon which he has examined them

- Report from William Lees, Chaplain, to the Trustees of the Oldham Blue Coat School, sent via Messrs Slater and Heelis, Solicitors, praising the school's success in transforming the conduct of 'the humbler classes of society' and expressing satisfaction with the progress in learning made by the boys, especially those in the first class and those most recently elected

- Report from William Lees, Chaplain to the Trustees of the Oldham Blue Coat School, commenting favourably upon the conduct and progress of the older boys, praising the school for its teaching methods and remarking upon the early promise shown by a few of the newest boys
- Report from William Lees, Chaplain, to the Trustees of the Oldham Blue Coat School, sent via Messrs Slater and Heelis, Solicitors, informing them that the institution continues to progress in a wholly satisfactory manner
- Report from William Lees, Chaplain, to the Trustees of the Oldham Blue Coat School, sent via Messrs Slater and Heelis, Solicitors, praising both the state of moral and religious discipline in the school and the intellectual progress of the boys
- Report from William Lees, Chaplain, to the Trustees of the Oldham Blue Coat School, remarking that the boys are well grounded in all subjects, explaining why it is understandable that the pronunciation of some remains poor and commenting negatively upon the calibre of the latest intake
- Report from William Lees, Chaplain, to the Trustees of the Oldham Blue Coat School, giving a favourable account of the progress made by the boys in all subjects, both secular and religious, and praising the discipline of the institution, but remarking that, since Mr Barrett became ill, the boys have not demonstrated the same energy in answering questions
- Report from William Lees, Chaplain, to the Trustees of the Oldham Blue Coat School, commenting favourably upon the moral and religious condition of the institution and the steady progress made by the boys in all subjects
- Report from William Lees, Chaplain, to the Trustees of the Oldham Blue Coat School, praising the moral and religious state of the school, the progress in learning made by the boys during their time there (considering how little they knew upon admittance and the fact that they leave at the age of 14) and the high level of discipline

- Report from William Lees, Chaplain, to the Trustees of the Oldham Blue Coat School, analyzing the boys' performance in a recent examination at which he and 3 teachers were present and remarking that, despite the hesitancy of a few when answering questions orally, the boys proved themselves to be well-grounded in both religious and secular subjects. He also observes, however, that a lot of mistakes were made in the written spelling test, leading to daily dictation classes being introduced to try to remedy this defect.
- Report from William Lees, Chaplain, to the Trustees of the Oldham Blue Coat School, commenting favourably upon the progress made by all but 5 or 6 of the boys, especially those most recently elected, and praising the Master for his running of the institution
