TitleReport from William Lees, Chaplain, to the Trustees of the Oldham Blue Coat School, analyzing the boys' performance in a recent examination at which he and 3 teachers were present and remarking that, despite the hesitancy of a few when answering questions orally, the boys proved themselves to be well-grounded in both religious and secular subjects. He also observes, however, that a lot of mistakes were made in the written spelling test, leading to daily dictation classes being introduced to try to remedy this defect.
